How fast is activation, really

Instant, and meant literally rather than as marketing shorthand. Provisioning is automated and runs continuously, so there is no review step and no queue with a person at the end of it. You choose the region, the address tier and how many addresses you want, pay, and the account exists as soon as the payment clears.

What instant actually covers

The word gets stretched by the industry, so it is worth being exact about which parts are immediate:

• The account. Created and usable, with control panel credentials.
• The addresses. Your full allocation is present and visible, not trickled in.
• The nameserver capability. You can create private nameservers straight away.

What is not instant is anything outside our control, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. Domain registration has its own timing. DNS changes propagate at the speed the records allow. A migration from another host is scheduled work rather than a switch.

Why there is no review queue

Manual review exists at some providers as a fraud control, and it is the usual reason a paid order sits idle for hours. Automating provisioning end to end removes that wait, which is the right trade for a product where customers frequently order at odd hours and want to start work immediately.

The practical effect is that ordering at three in the morning behaves the same as ordering at midday. There is no business-hours dependency anywhere in the path between payment and a working account.

What to do in the first ten minutes

1. Sign in and read the address list before assigning anything.
2. Sample a few addresses with a reverse lookup to see what is visible from outside.
3. Create the account for your first site and bind it to a chosen address deliberately.
4. Set up private nameservers for that domain rather than reusing a shared pair.
5. Only then point the domain, so the first thing that resolves is already correct.

Doing it in that order avoids the usual rework. Point the domain first and you may find it answering on an address you did not choose, at which point correcting it costs you a propagation delay you did not need to spend.

If something is not there

Almost every report of a slow activation turns out to be the payment rather than the provisioning: the card has approved the charge but the funds have not cleared, so the automation has nothing to act on yet.
