How do payments and billing cycles work

Card payments through Visa and Mastercard, or PayPal. Monthly is the default cycle and carries no commitment. Longer terms are available and carry progressively larger discounts, upgrades between plans are prorated so you only pay the difference for the remainder of the period, and cancellation is done by you from the client portal rather than by asking someone.

Choosing a cycle

The trade is the ordinary one: a longer commitment for a lower effective monthly rate. What is worth knowing is that the discount ladder is not flat. Each step up in term length improves the rate again, so the difference between the shortest and longest commitment is substantial rather than marginal. Current rates for each term are shown on the product pages, because that is the single place they are maintained.

Monthly with no commitment is always available and is the sensible starting point if you are still evaluating. Committing to several years of anything before you have tested a restore or watched support handle a real ticket is a decision made too early.

How upgrades are handled

Moving to a larger plan mid-cycle is prorated. You are credited for the unused part of what you already paid and charged the difference for the remainder of the period, rather than starting a fresh term or paying twice for overlapping time.

Adding addresses is a separate matter and works differently: it is a new order against the same account rather than a change to the existing one. That is covered in Activation and Setup.

Cancellation

Cancellation is self-service in the portal. There is no requirement to open a ticket, no retention step and no notice period to sit through. Two practical points:

• Collect your data first. Files, databases and mail are far easier to export while the account is still live.
• Mind the timing. Cancelling takes effect against the billing period, so doing it the day after a renewal is a more expensive way to leave than doing it the day before.

What is on the invoice

Hosting and addresses appear as separate lines, which is deliberate. The two grow independently: you can add addresses without changing the plan, and change the plan without touching the addresses. Seeing them broken out makes it obvious which part of the bill is which when the estate grows.
